Rugged Robin 2/3 track secret vehicle
Rugged Robin, 2/3 track at 2011 Cuckoo Fayre..... (how apt!). Gritineye came round to pose with the Scammell and Militant just as we were about to leave the show. I'm afraid I am unable to give any more details as this vehicle is listed as classified. It is due to make an appearance at the war and peace show 2011.... Latest.... It's there. The Drivers beard is strictly to hide his identification and to cover the lump on his face cause by his tongue planted firmly in his cheek!

Two Ward La France Wreckers where needed to do this job, due to the six miles of very steep hills encountered The Sherman tank is the very rare Chrysler multi-bank engined variant, and had developed a fuel pump problem.

Rugged Robin is gunning for Clarkson
The Reliant Robin..... a handsome little car, much loved by the thrifty working man, and the young driver just starting out. Sadly, being small of stature, light of weight, and a little short in the wheel department, they have of late, become the butt of ridicule and bullying, particularly by one Jeremy Clarkson, a public school buffoon who really should know better, the blighter. This has so annoyed one plucky little Robin that he is itching to punch that Clarksons lights out. So we called in a favour and sent him to Hereford for training and ruggedizeation, where he soon learned to do proper fighting and secret covert stuff. During this time a remarkable transformation took place, he met a lot of tough fighting machines, and he wanted to be gallant and brave, just like his new chums Rugged Robin is now a lean mean fighting machine, and has already carried out covert ops with the SAS, SBS, and the navy SEALS, he is now ready to take on comers! He has a high road speed, amazing off road and amphibious capability, and as he is air portable by Microlite, there is now no place for Clarkson to hide. So jeremy Clarkson, be afraid, be very afraid, hell hath no fury like a Robin scorned!

Scammell recovery 2010
Scammell recovers Scammell at War and Peace show trial 2010 The Casualty was bellied out with the fuel tank against the bank, and the rear bodywork and mudguard are dug into the same bank. The bent front mudguard has already been jacked off the wheel before recovery commenced. The plan was to winch at an angle to prevent the casualty (see why this becomes an operation?) going further into the next hole, the driver is powering the wheels in order to steer against the winch to protect the fuel tank which is against the bank, this did not work. Winch truck one then repositioned to get a better line, trying to steer against the winch did not work, air powered steering is not the best in this situation, it has to be said. The next plan was to attach winch truck two to pull the casualty straight forward to save the tank and rear mudguard from further damage, and when past the bank the main winch truck would take over and pull it out sideways. For some reason when winch truck two revved his engine and started to winch nothing happened, no idea why though, forgot to ask. As you can see the casualty came out but with further damage to the rear wing.
