LA's deadliest street gang just declared war on the cops. This is a video with the soundtrack from John carpenters movie Assault on precinct 13. I wanted to share this awesome and cool music to all users on youtube. It's one of the coolest soundtracks I've ever heard, and the soundtrack is also so very important for the movie. John Carpenter is one of few directors who can successfully transform their movies into giant roller coaster rides without insulting the audience. James Cameron does this, sometimes, but usually adds more plot to his stories. Carpenter just takes simple premises, throws some characters together, and lets everything evolve and unwind on their own. "Assault on Precinct 13" deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as "Dawn of the Dead," or perhaps the overrated "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," as a very low-budget horror/thriller that takes a cast of unknowns, places them together, doesn't really delve into their backgrounds, but lets everything just work itself out like clockwork. There's an eager new cop, an infamous death row murderer, and a relocating precinct, all stuffed together into a movie about a vicious gang assault. ABOUT THE FILM The story of The Precinct inhabits an interesting cross of genres the uncanny with the mysterious which throws an intense focus on the dilemmas and pressures on contemporary relationships. The setting is Baku which itself is of interest to an international audience, as there are very few cinematic windows into this culture that have the strength of storytelling to be able to travel abroad. This is a classic story of a man whose past prevents him from fully inhabiting the present. The set-up soon dives into a mysterious realm within a Precinct where everything is suggested and nothing revealed establishing dramatic tension and preparation for the twist in time that slowly unravels a past that reveals the main character's personal trauma. This past carries an authentic view on early photography in Azerbaijan, which also adds to the story's appeal. Coventry Precinct
A definitive collection of images of Coventry's famous shopping precinct. In addition to my own postcard scans and photos I have been privileged to have been given consent to use a number of other people's pictures in this production. Many thanks to "Allhails" (AH) who gave me permission to use the stunning pictures he took as a schoolboy of the Precinct. In this video they follow the redevelopment proposals and have the month / year they were taken on them. The last one is a marvellous colour shot from April 1957 which shows a completed Upper Precinct with part of Smithford Street still standing where the Lower Precinct would soon be built.
