Our project emphasis on the development of a tilting mechanism in the three wheelers. This will help to increase the handling and will negotiate with the rollover of the three wheelers. We have designed and developed a chassis to the bike and provided two front wheel with the capability of the tilt and turn. This report outlines the entire design and fabrication process of the Tilting three Wheeler throughout the course of the Design Project I and II of the Mechanical Engineering program under Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan college. The contents include a description of the design and selection process including all refinements to the tricycle from the build report to the final fabrication model. After the full scale prototype was fabricated and assembled, a number of tests were conducted on the Tilting Three Wheeler to analyze the performance based on velocity, turning radius, maneuverability, braking distance and adjustability. The turning and tilting of the Tilting Three Wheeler to maneuver extremely well and maintain high level of stability at a variety of speeds. Testing concluded that all design requirements were met during testing with the exception of turning radius which was 2 m above the minimum. The report includes some suggested improvements that would allow the Tilting Three Wheeler to meet this design requirement and improve the Wheeler overall. The final prototype proved to be an excellent working model of the original design concept

It's one of the finalists in the Automotive X-Prize but its frugal fuel consumption and low emissions are only part of the vision of making it a car for the people. The Spira starts with a scooter, uses everything but the frame, and all those parts bolt into a foam composite tub to create a lightweight (137 kg) three-wheeled two-seater with immeasurably greater crash protection for the occupants. Thanks for subscribing! This is a film clip of two females assembling, unfolding a three (3) wheel electric car. The car can be fashioned as either a convertible with side doors or as a front entrance car with full cover for the passenger compartment. The car can be folded up for storage. Presumable it is an all electric drive vehicle for ease of maintenance and to eliminate the the issue of cranking the start motor of the combustion engine of the day. The Honda Gyro is a family of small, three-wheeled, single-occupant vehicles sold primarily in Japan, and often used for delivery or express service. These vehicles are tilting three wheelers. They combine a tricycle's stopped & low-speed stability with a leaning main-body for stability while turning at speed. They resemble a scooter with a small hinged rear pod containing the engine and two drive wheels. This particular variation was developed and patented by George Wallis of GLWallis & Son in Surbiton, Surrey in 1966. It was first marketed in the failed BSA Ariel 3 of 1970, then licensed to Honda. [Honda has built seven vehicles with this configuration. The first Stream was introduced in 1981, followed closely by three other personal transport versions, the Joy, Just, and Road Fox or Sport model found some success in the US with its chopper styling and relaxed riding position. Only the cargo-oriented Gyro are still in production in 2008. These vehicles are all powered by a 49 cc 2-stroke engine, while Honda has a long history of producing 49 cc 4-stroke mopeds and light motorbikes. Honda chooses a 2-stroke engine to provide sufficient power for these relatively heavy vehicles. The 49 cc engine allows the Gyro to be classed as a moped in most countries thus allowing it to take advatage of cheap registration and insurance.

Finnish student Heikki Naulapaa designed this vehicle as the main project in his design degree at the Royal College of the Arts in London. It landed him a dream job in the design department at Aprilia and maybe, just maybe, the adventurous company might build this excitement machine. With specs like that and a low aerodynamic profile, the hybrid would match any 1000cc superbike in performance and blow a Ferrari into the weeds.
